Nanotechnology involves manipulating and applying materials at the nanoscale, which is incredibly small; for perspective, a single sheet of paper is approximately 150,000 nanometers thick.
Our nanoparticles, which measure between 40 and 60 nanometers, are exceptionally tiny, allowing them to penetrate materials deeply and provide protection from within.
Unlike traditional coatings or paints that merely form a surface layer, our nano sealers interact with the molecular structure of materials, enhancing and fortifying them at a fundamental level.

The advent of GoNano technology has revolutionized the approach to sealants. Traditional methods use oil to seal shingles by filling the spaces between them. In contrast, GoNano technology permanently alters the molecular structure of asphalt shingles. Upon application, a chemical reaction occurs within each shingle, merging organic and inorganic materials to form new chemical bonds known as S1 particles. These S1 particles connect the granules of the shingles from the inside out, creating a cohesive barrier against environmental stressors and significantly extending the roof’s lifespan, ultimately saving you money.

Nanosilica is an inorganic nanomaterial with a high silica content (99%). It is synthesized using one of three methods: the precipitation process (where silica reacts in a solvent and undergoes purification and dispersion), the hydrothermal/solvothermal process (involving precipitation under high pressure and temperature), or thermal reduction (where silica is subjected to temperatures between 1700°C and 2300°C). The enhanced performance of nanosilica is due to its pozzolanic reactivity, a chemical reaction that fills pores and improves material properties.

When is the right time to apply GoNano on my roof?
There is no magic timer on when to apply GoNano roof coatings. Instead it is best to examine and determine the current state of your roof to make an informed decision on applying GoNano.
What kind of warranties can I expect from GoNano products?
We offer a 15-year warranty for asphalt shingles. As for concrete or wood coatings we offer a 10-year warranty.
Will GoNano coatings impact the way my roof looks?
Yes, but instead of making the appearance seem worse, it will improve your roof’s image. It will help return the original color and mitigate discoloration from time and sun damage.
Does rain or ice hurt the GoNano coatings?
As long as the coatings have at least two hours to react and cure, rain and ice will not negatively impact the nano technology.
What is nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is a fancy word for coatings that work at a very tiny scale. Just one nanoparticle is roughly 30,000 times smaller than one of the hairs on your head.
By applying GoNano will it void my current warranty on my shingles?
One of the best parts of GoNano is that it does not void any warranties on your roof shingles. GoNano has undergone a lengthy legal assessment with several large shingle manufacturers to ensure it enhances your roof without voiding shingle warranties.
Do I need to perform any roof repairs before applying GoNano?
Yes, it is ideal to perform any regular repairs before applying GoNano, especially blow-offs or areas with current leaks.
What kind of prep work does my roof need to go through before applying GoNano?
If your roof has thick moss growth or heavy algae we would need to clean this off first. However, a soft cleaning will only help improve the final outcome, as GoNano will bring out some of the original color and aesthetic of your roof.
What should I expect from my insurance company, do they approve of this product?
Several of our customers have obtained approval from their insurance companies to use GoNano as a product to extend the lifespans of their roofs. It does come down to a case-by-case scenario, but we have seen very positive responses from insurance companies.
Does it help protect against UV rays?
The GoNano coatings will help mitigate sun damage by reflecting UV rays and mitigating heat absorption. This will help slow down the aging of the roof and prevent discoloration.
Does spraying my roof with GoNano make it more flammable?
No, the nanosilica does not change your roof, making shingles more susceptible to fires.
Do I need to reapply the coatings to make if effective?
You can apply the coatings once at the bare minimum, but applying a second coat halfway through the product’s lifespan is extremely beneficial. A second coating will have positive impacts on the following:
